Skincare Saturday … on a Sunday

Happy Monday eve, y’all! Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. Mine has been pretty blah. I had to go into town on Friday afternoon, and it basically ruined my weekend. It takes so much out of me, these days, to complete the simplest of tasks. I had to pick up my truck from the repair shop, for the final time, let’s all hope. Then, I ran to the pharmacy, the story of my life when I’m in town, ran into Sephora, got gas, then hung out with some friends. I was in town a whopping four hours. I didn’t sleep well Friday night, which means my need for sleep on Saturday was insane. There are times when I truly hate this disease more than others, and this weekend has been one of those times. I did get some pretty cool things at Sephora, though, which almost makes it worth it. Almost …

I did get an incredible skin care product Friday, but I’m not quite ready to talk about it with y’all. Let me use it for the next week, and it’ll be the focus of next Saturday’s post, that’ll actually go up on Saturday haha, hopefully. I do want to tell you guys about a great mask I ordered earlier this week from Ulta. You may or may not know, but we are currently in Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty sale. That’s a special time of year when truly awesome products are deeply discounted for one day only, and there are 21 days of such deals. Not only that, but there are side deals all throughout the sale. While I was checking out the side deals, I came across The Body Shop’s British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask.

I think I may have mentioned that I have a thing for roses and rose scented products. That means that, of course, this went into my shopping basket, without hesitation. I don’t think I even looked at what it claimed to do hahaha It arrived a few days ago, just in time for Skincare Saturday! (Ignore my ghastly manicure in these photos. I have since remedied that situation. Also, I’m human … my nails are not 100% perfect, 100% of the time.)

21868479_10155747357899357_1488038497_o

So here’s the lovely little jar. It was $28 for 2.6 oz of product. Clearly, this one not one of the side sale items. It is 100% vegetarian and is made without parabens, silicone, mineral oils or paraffins. I don’t see any cruelty-free notations, which is unfortunate. Let’s talk about the claims … rose petal and essence of hand-picked British roses to freshly replenish the skin’s water reserves, rosehip oil from Chile which is rich in Omegas 3 and 6, to help tone skin and Community Trade Organic aloe vera from Mexico, which is known for its calming and soothing skin care properties. The box goes on to say that skin is instantly replenished with moisture, feels ultra smooth, silky soft and toned. With continued use, you can expect a dewy, youthful glow. Starting with a clean, wet face, smooth a thin layer onto the skin, avoiding the eyes and lips. Can be applied to the neck and décolleté, a well. Leave on 5-10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. I believe I was distracted, and left mine on for 15 minutes, without ill effect. Distracted is my middle name hehe

You can actually see roses in the gel! That was the second thing I noticed. The first was the heavenly scent. It’s not perfume-y, by any means. It smells like a tub of roses, and it’s divine. It was very easy to rinse off, and just the faintest hint of rose smell lingered for a few minutes. I didn’t take before and after photos, because it’s too hard to see results with a face mask. Results are intended to be seen with time, not immediately.

I have to say, though, my skin did appear a bit plumper and a bit healthier. Especially around my eye/upper cheek area. The box says this can be used 2-3 times per week, or daily, if desired. While I don’t think daily is necessary for my skin, I can see this being a part of my nightly skin care routine 2-3 times per week. Maybe on the nights I don’t use the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask.

To say I am happy with this mask would be a huge understatement. It would be perfect if it were cruelty-free. That is pretty much the only downside I am seeing right now. I will have to see how long it takes to use the entire jar, using it 2-3 times a week, to determine if the cost is justified. If it lasts two months, then yeah, I can see this having a permanent place in my routine.

Okay y’all, have any of you used this mask before? Or any other products from The Body Shop? Do you like what you’ve used? Lemme know!

Skincare Saturday ~ 7 Wonders Kalahari Melon Moisturizing Mask

Happy weekend, y’all! Well … yesterday was move-in day! We were all completely exhausted, but our girl got all moved in, obscene amount of money spent at Walmart for groceries and last minute dorm items and she’s a happy girl, about to start her sophomore year. I’d call it a successful day. Her university is about 2½ hours away, so my hubby and I were totally worn out by the time we got home.

Considering the sort of day I had yesterday, I thought I would go for something quite pampering tonight.

I felt like my skin got a bit beat up yesterday, so I thought a moisturizing mask would be ideal! And it might have been, if this 7 Wonders Kalahari Melon Moisturizing Mask was moisturizing. I left this on a few minutes longer than the recommended 20-25 minutes. I might have gotten sucked into the ending of Rogue One. About an hour has passed since I removed it and my skin is tight and dry feeling. I thought it would smell like melon. I’m not sure what it smells like, but it’s not melon. It’s not a bad smell, kind of neutral, I guess.

Let’s talk about the claims: deeply hydrates skin, smooths rough and dry skin and leaves skin dewy and supple. Unfortunately, it did none of these for my face skin. I don’t think I have hard to please skin. It reacts well to serums, usually. The worst part is I think it may have taken moisture away from my skin! What I mean by that is, my skin felt more hydrated before I used this mask. I have no idea how that is possible, but feeling is believing! I didn’t wash the serum off my hands after I applied the mask and my hands are even dried out! This mask was $6 from Ulta. My recommendation is to spend your hard earned money on something else.

It’s a quick one tonight, but some things just are what they are hahaha Have y’all tried this mask before? What did you think? Lemme know!

Skincare Saturday ~ Boscia Jelly Ball Cleanser

Happy Saturday, y’all! Okay, so remember yesterday when I excitedly said I didn’t have anywhere to go today? Sigh … it never works out like that, does it? To be fair, today’s outing was totally for my own benefit. Bath & Body Works may have been having a buy two get two free candle sale. I may have gotten eight candles, plus a really cool candle holder. I also may have gotten some items at the Clinique counter at my local Belk store, along with some delicates. And I may have gone to New York & Company and gotten a super cute tank top and cardigan to match. All just maybes, though hahaha For some reason, I have been really into cardigans lately. I must be channeling my inner Fred Rogers, but I am all about them right now. I think in the last two months, I have purchased seven of them. What is that about??

Something else really cool that I have added to my hoard of goods is the Boscia Charcoal Jelly Ball cleanser. Ummm, have y’all seen this?? I watched a video from Raw Beauty Kristi and I knew I had to try this thing out! She’s one of my favorite Youtubers. She’s hilarious, talented and honest, all very important qualities for success. The jelly ball cleanser is unlike anything you have every encountered. The first time I tried it, I dropped it no less than six times. It’s unusual and does take some getting used to.

20961290_10155670377134357_1721594104_o

It comes encased in a balloon, to keep it from drying out, I assume. They even provide a little pick and detailed instructions on puncturing the balloon. You can use it a few different ways. One, is wet your face and the ball, and just rub the ball over your face Two, wet the ball and create a lather in your hands with it, then use that to wash your face. I use the first option, but I use my hands to rub the lather around on my face, after using the ball. I guess I combined the two. Either way you choose, your face will get squeaky clean, I promise.

If you are looking for a sweet smelling face wash, this is not it. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t smell bad. It has a medicinal smell, though. I thought it might be camphor, but it’s not listed as an ingredient. Maybe it’s the hinoki oil, which has astringent properties? It’s not a bad smell, by any means. Just unexpected, when facial cleansers tend to smell flowery or sweet. I actually like the scent. It smells like it’s actually cleaning my face, instead of like I face planted in a flower garden.

I ordered this from Sephora and it arrived last Thursday. I have been washing with it twice a day, for a just over week, so I could give you a truly fair review. For starters, my face feels amazing after every time I use it. It feels absolutely, without a doubt, clean. I always follow a double cleanse method and remove my makeup, no matter what I am using to cleanse my face with, and I didn’t change that. Kristi used the jelly ball to remove a full face of dark purple makeup, and that was what actually convinced me to give this a shot. It removed every speck and crumb of makeup from her face! I will link her video here. Like I said, I just automatically remove my makeup before I cleanse, but you certainly don’t have to, if you don’t want to.

The second thing I noticed, within three days maybe, was my rosacea was significantly improved. My face does redden while I am washing, but I think that’s because I am quite fair-skinned, and any friction is going to cause redness. However, after I rinse and dry my face, you can almost watch the redness fade. I have had another cleanser reduce my redness, but nothing like this. I can’t help but to stare at my skin for a little while when I’m done. It has been so many years since I have seen my actual skin color. I had honestly forgotten what it looked like. Welcome back, peachy-pink skin tone! It’s not a miracle cure, I know that. When I get hot (which has been my entire existence the past few weeks), it does show up, but it is significantly reduced from what it used to be. Keep in mind I have been using this product a week!

Now, you had to know there would be a con. It pains me to even talk about this part. In a week, the ball has shrunk by half. I have used half of it in eight days. At $20, that is simply not sustainable. Y’all, my heart shattered when I realized just how much it had shrunk. I don’t know how to make it last longer. I don’t think I’m using too much product. I mean, it kind of self dispenses, if you think about it. I am heartbroken, because I know I won’t be able to afford to spend $40 a month to wash my face, despite the results I have seen. I spent that on a bottle of Purity Made Simple, by philosophy. It’s almost as good, but a 16 oz bottle has lasted me three months so far. If any of you have used this and know a way to make it last longer, please let me know!

Okay, y’all, there it is. I love, love, love this product. It’s just not something that I consider sustainable. If you can afford $40/month, then I recommend this product with every fiber of my being. (hahaha geeez, dramatic much, Carrie? haha) Seriously, it IS that good in my opinion. If you can’t afford it, I would suggest asking for it for your birthday or any other gift-giving holiday you celebrate. I think it’s a perfectly appropriate gift. Or, gift yourself every now and then ; )

So, what do you guys think? Have you used this product before? Love it as much as I do? Hate it? Lemme know!

Skin Care Saturday ~ Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Super Hydrating

Good evening, friends! Ahhhh … it’s Saturday!! I don’t know what it is about the weekend, but those are the perfect nap days. Days of the week don’t matter much to me, since I don’t work outside of my home. However, there is something so much more satisfying about napping on the weekend! Do ya feel me on this?

Tonight, I thought I wold give the Garnier masks a second go. Seems to me, the first Garnier mask I tried was the pink one, which is the soothing version. I did not like it at all. It left my face very sticky and kinda gross feeling. So, when I was in Walmart the other day and saw the display, I thought I would give another variety a shot. I tried the mask in the blue packaging tonight, and I feel much better about this one.

20841421_10155650949194357_524769268_o

This mask is incredibly … slimy … when you remove it from the package. According to the website, each mask contains ½ of a bottle of serum. Whaaaaaaatttt?? No wonder it drips like crazy when I took it out hahaha It didn’t feel all that slimy once I got it on my face though. I have used some sheet masks that drip serum all down my neck, which is not really what I am going for. For as much serum as this contains, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t do that.

20821201_10155650949169357_1809564699_o

I was on the phone with my sister while I was masking tonight. Yay for multitasking! Don’t judge my earphones hahaha … I cannot wear earbuds. They kill my ears for some reason. Anyway …

My timer went off at the fifteen minute mark and when I removed the mask, I was immediately disappointed. My face was super sticky. I followed the directions, and patted the remaining serum into my skin and did not rinse. My face stayed sticky for about twenty minutes, then it magically went away! I guess it takes some time to absorb that much serum. Patience, Carrie … have some patience.

It’s been two hours now, since I took the mask off and I must say, my face feel very hydrated. My skin feels supple, which isn’t a word I often use to describe my face skin. This formulation contains hyaluronic acid and pomegranate extract. For those who may not know, hyaluronic acids decreases moisture loss and can actually attract moisture. YAY hyaluronic acid! Dry skin is a common part of the aging process. In my teens and twenties, I would characterize my skin as oily to normal. In my thirties, it was probably normal. Now, in my early forties, it is normal to dry. I get very dry patches on the top of my cheeks … sigh. My cheeks feel amazing right now, though!

Pomegranate extract in skin care is an ingredient I really dig. As a food, they are chock full of awesome vitamins and minerals, and are considered a super food. Putting that goodness into skin care can only be good. Turns out, it is! Pomegranate extract aids in hydrating, combats inflammation, stimulates collagen production and helps to protect against sun and environmental damage. Pomegranate oil can even help to strengthen the outer layer of skin, which can help delay and even reduce wrinkles. Impressive!

I am glad I gave this brand of sheet mask a second look. Often, with using a sheet mask just once, there isn’t much of an immediate effect. The benefits usually come after using the same mask a few times. Not so with this one. The effect is immediate, and fantastic! This would be an ideal mask to use before an event or special occasion, when you really need your skin to be in tip-top condition. I want to say I paid right around $3. For a product that gives immediate good results, that price is outstanding.

What you do think? Have you had the same experience with this line of sheet mask? Lemme know!

Skin Care Saturday ~ Freeman Beauty Green Tea and Orange Blossom

**This post contains affiliate links. Read my disclosure statement here.**

Happy weekend lovelies! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday. My niece is still with me, so my weekend is a little less restful than usual. For some reason, she was up at 3:30 this morning … and stayed awake until about 7, slept until 8:30 and she is running WIDE OPEN right now. Having her for this long has made me realize that I could never have a child with the conditions I have. Kudos to the parents who are able to do it!! I simply don’t have the energy to parent like I did with my daughter, nearly twenty years ago. I’m also creeping toward my mid-forties. Don’t get me wrong, I love having my niece here, and we have a good time. It’s thoroughly exhausting, and I am not used to having to tend to someone. People are usually tending to me LOL One cool thing about having her here is she likes to pick my masks. It sure takes away my indecision haha

She chose a peel-off mask for tonight and I was glad! I feel like I need to peel away the last few days haha so this is perfect! My go-to for peel off masks is Freeman Beauty. To me, they are one of the best, as far as “drugstore” masks go. Tonight, my niece chose the green tea and orange blossom brightening mask. It helps to refine pores and improve dark spots, and is for normal to combination skin. There is a very light floral fragrance, if you are sensitive to those things. I couldn’t smell it while it was on, and could smell it only when I got very close to the open package. As with most peel off masks, it is very thick. Be careful to avoid any baby hairs you may have around your face, as well as your brows. I can never be patient enough to avoid my brows, and guess who lost a few hairs tonight? Sigh … yep … me lol

The leave-on time for this is 10-15 minutes, but they never dry in the recommended time for me. I probably apply a bit thick, because I always try to remove these types of masks in one big sheet. I am usually pretty successful, but there was one area that wasn’t quite dry, so it broke there. Sigh … hurt my feels a little.

Let’s talk about the claims … was my skin brightened? Hmm … no. It did seem to remove some of my redness once I peeled it off, and my cheeks look pretty calm in the picture above. I’m gonna call that a win. Were my pores refined? No. In fact, it seems as if the pores around my upper lip area are a bit MORE visible. Ugh … def not what I wanted to achieve. Finally, how about any dark spots? I have one spot on my left cheek, from a very deep pimple. It does, indeed, appear to be less dark. Freeman hit two out of the three claims listed for my skin. Percentage wise, that’s 66%. Not fabulous, but not terrible either. I suppose it boils down to which of the claims are more important to you. For me, this is a win! There are a few great pore blurring primers on the market that work well for me, so the fact that some of my pores seemed to be accentuated is no big deal. It removing my rosacea redness is a very bid deal for me. I have battled this blasted condition for nearly twenty years, and am having very little luck with prescription topicals. I have, only recently, found a product that cosmetically covers the redness like a champ (IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Neutralizing Correcting Cream 0.37 fl oz. by IT Cosmetics BEAUTY<<affiliate link>> … seriously look into it if you have redness. It’s pricey, but worth it.) The more redness I can remove through other means, the less product I have to use to cover it up.

Have you tried this particular peel off? What are your thoughts? How well did it live up to its claims on your skin? Do you have a better mask that you use? Lemme know!

Skin Care Saturday ~ Freeman Beauty Infusion

Happy Saturday, lovelies! I hope you all are having a relaxing weekend. I just had a mini fangirl moment. I messaged one of my favorite YouTubers, Emily Noel, and she messaged me back! I love that there are so many different platforms for internet personalities to interact with their followers, and she literally made my day : )

On that happy note, let’s talk about tonight’s mask. I ordered this Hibiscus + Vitamin C from Sally’s Beauty and it came the other day. Their masks are pretty reasonably priced. This one was just over $3. I don’t have local access to the Freeman Beauty Infusion sheet masks, and that’s not a bad price for a sheet mask, period. Sheet masks are so funny to me. They never fit me right, so I think like I look like a lunatic, no matter my facial expression haha

It has a very nice, light floral scent. It doesn’t really smell like hibiscus, but it’s nice, all the same. It also wasn’t so loaded with serum that it dripped down my neck. I really don’t like when that happens. It just messy, and I do not like messy when I’m trying to relax.

I kept this mask on the full twenty minutes. One thing I noticed right away is the serum was not sticky. There are a few brands that have very sticky serum. So much so that my face is still tacky in the morning. I’ve figured out which brands those are, and I actually rinse my face a little when I remove them. I removed the mask about an hour ago and my skin feel like skin. YAY! It also feels nice and hydrated. Double YAY! A few things of note about this particular mask … it is free of parabens and sulfates and is NOT tested on animals! Triple YAY!!!

Now for the bummer news … I don’t see any difference in my skin’s brightness or tone, nor was my discoloration corrected. My thought is that it obviously won’t do all of that after one use, but I think there should be something that says “noticeable difference after six uses” … something along those lines, anyway. The claims on these packages could be a little misleading for those who are new to skin care and facial masks.

Overall, I am pretty pleased with tonight’s choice. I will follow up with Sephora’s avocado sleeping mask, for an added hydration boost. I did some burning in my yard today and being in the smoke is a bit drying for my already dry-ish skin.

Have you used products from the Freeman Beauty Infusion line? What do you think about them? Lemme know!

Skin Care Saturday ~ #decadence

Hello lovelies! I hope y’all are having a relaxing, cool weekend. I know I said this in my last post, but it’s HOT y’all!! Our heat index has routinely been well over 100°, which aggravates my health. I think temperatures like that aggravate even healthy people haha It’s just ridiculous! When it came time for my Saturday mask time, this girl was excited! My rosacea as been raging with the heat, as well, so any cooling, soothing things I can do make me a very happy camper.

I ordered this cool bioBelle mask from Ulta last week and I was so happy when it came in yesterday. I had seen people get this mask in some Boxycharm unboxings and I thought it looked really neat. So, I ordered one to see what it was all about!

This #decadence mask is loaded with chocolate and açai berry, We’ve all heard that chocolate is full of great antioxidants, and these help hydrate and soften the skin. Açai berry helps your skin retain its moisture and also helps to fight free radicals, which can be quite damaging. (Info taken from the bioBelle website.)

I loved the way this mask smelled. It wasn’t overpowering, but there was a slight chocolate scent, with a hint of something sweet and flowery. I will assume that was the açai berry. I also liked that this mask was quite thin. A lot of masks are thick, and I feel like my skin can’t breathe while I’m wearing them. Is that even a thing? Hmm … haha Anyway, the thicker masks feel pretty heavy, and they don’t want to stay in place. I also have trouble with the thicker masks fitting my face. I feel like I have an average sized face/head, but some masks just don’t want to conform to my face. I really don’t think my face is oddly shaped. Is it??? Sigh … now I’m wondering … Odd face shape or not, this one actually fit my face well. I think part of that was the thinner material.

I wore #decadence for 17 minutes and my face was still pretty red after, but it was much less than before I put the mask on. The serum is a bit sticky, but the directions do say to rinse off after removal, which I thought was different. Most instructions tell you to pat the remaining serum into your skin and to NOT rinse off. I left the serum on for a few hours, just to see what happened. Shockingly, nothing happened hahaha My face was kinda sticky for those few hours. The serum never fully penetrated, and I don’t know if that was because my skin couldn’t absorb any more, or if it doesn’t absorb well. My face feel pretty good this morning, though!

These masks are a little on the pricey side … $4.99-ish. Ulta is currently running a “buy one, get one 50% off” sale, but I don’t know how long that will be going on. Overall, I really liked this mask. It helped ease my heatwave induced rosacea flare, which is pretty priceless, in and of itself. My face looks and feel pretty good, the day after. And listen, who doesn’t want to lounge around with chocolate on their face??? Check them out, tell me what you think. The bioBelle website has a much larger selection than Ulta. There may even be some unicorn themed items …

Have any of you tried these masks before? How well did they work for you? Lemme know!

Super Saturday

Yesterday was such a fun, busy day. I don’t know if I have told you all that I am a hermit. Self-imposed and much loved, but a hermit, nonetheless. I do not like leaving my farm. I actually get agitated when I have to be in town sometimes haha Yesterday, though, was a day I was glad to be in town.

My first stop was our local artisan/farmer’s market. I connected with a bath product company on Facebook and they were going to be at the market yesterday. I HAD to get my hands on their bath bombs. You guys know how I am about my bath products hahaha The Ever After Boutique makes handcrafted bath and home products, such as candles and wax melts. I bought several bath bombs, some sugar scrub cubes, wax melts and a foot scrub. I tried one of their cotton candy bath bombs last night and, let me tell you, their products rival Lush. I was highly impressed! As soon as I dropped the bomb in the tub, the colors swirled and mixed to make the water purple and the fizz with this bomb was incredible! The scent wasn’t as potent as I was hoping for, but it was there. Check them out on Facebook and see what they have to offer. The price is great and they have some really cool products!

19727116_10155512673774357_863145992_o

After the market, I headed over to our local civic center for a comicon. Yep, I’m one of those people haha I love just about anything in the sci-fi or fantasy genre. My dogs are names for Lord of the Rings characters haha Our town has tried these cons a few times and this one was quite a success! Lots of people, lots of cool vendors. The best part was hanging out with a friend and some of his cool kids. The little ginger has stolen my heart in a crazy way. We clicked instantly the first time we met and we just have a kind of crazy connection. I can’t explain it, really. Anyway, we had a BLAST walking around the con … buying cool stuff and eating treats.

19749612_10155512675329357_163961935_o

Of course, I wore the wrong shoes. Of course, my knees, ankles and feet were stagging a revolt. Of course, I grabbed the WRONG pain medicine as I was running (late) out the door. By the time I got home, my pain levels were bordering on insane. I took a dose and a half of the right meds and did nothing until they kicked in. I ended up taking the other half a pill not long after, because they just weren’t doing enough. I hate when stuff like that is totally my fault and could have been avoided. Sigh … one of these days I’ll learn. It was a good opportunity to try the bath bombs I bought earlier in the day, though.

My poor face really showed the effects of the day. I had dark circles under my eyes and my entire face just looked worn out. I dug into my bag of tricks and pulled out several products. I was gonna have to approach this with guns a’blazin’! My first attack was a sheet mask from Soo Ae Beauty. I went with a vitamin mask, because I was feeling defeated AND depleted! After the 20 minute mark, my skin felt great! I felt refreshed and the remaining serum wasn’t sticky or weird, like it can be with some masks. It has a light lemony floral scent, which helped to perk me up a bit, I think.

My eyes, though. My eyes still looked like they had seen way too much. They felt puffy and there were some very dark circles. I remembered I had some eye patches from Tarte Cosmetics. Save your hard earned money, y’all. The description for these Pack Your Bags 911 Undereye Rescue Patches claims to fight the look of puffiness, dark circles and crow’s feet. Uhhhhh … no. My dark circles were still there (and are still there this afternoon). You get four sets for $22. While not wildly expensive, it’s too much money for a product that doesn’t really work. At least, they didn’t work for me.

My last plan of attack was a sleeping mask I just got in the mail from Sephora. Ahhhh … now this is some good stuff. First, there is enough in the package for at least three or four applications, as the directions say to use a thin layer. I pressed the foil back down, and put it in a plastic baggie to keep it from drying out. Score! Second. my poor little face immediately brightened and the rosacea redness disappeared. Completely. It’s back today, but for a few minutes, it was totally gone! Also, it didn’t leave my face sticky or slimy, as some of these masks can. Maybe my skin was that desperate for some nutrition and sucked it all in haha Either way, my skin LOVED this stuff!!! Well worth the $4. Holy cow, sooooo worth it.

So how was your weekend? How did you help your skin recover from it? Lemme know!

Skin Care Saturday

**This post contains affiliate links**

Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying a peaceful, easy weekend. Since this is my first Skin Care Saturday post, I thought I would talk about my nighttime skin care routine, in addition to talking about tonight’s mask. When I saw my dermatologist the other week, we talked a lot about how I care for my skin. He said I was being aggressive, but in a good way. At my age, aggressive is a must hahahaha

I kick off my routine by washing my face. I don’t recall how I discovered this cleanser, but it has been nearly miraculous for me. The first time I used it, it took out most of my rosacea redness immediately. I stood in the bathroom, staring into the mirror, stunned at how good my skin looked. It is a staple now. My holy grail cleanser is Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser, 16 Ounces. I am aware that this is a pretty spendy cleanser, but I have searched high and low for something that works and makes my skin look awesome, in general, and this is it. I am learning that sometimes, you do indeed get what you pay for. I also use this exact Konjac Sponge Set: Organic Skincare Facial for Natural Exfoliating and Deep Pore Cleansing 5 Piece Sampler Pack Infused with Charcoal, Red Clay, Tumeric, Green Tea and I love them! They are super soft and do a much better job than fingers alone. My skin is too sensitive to use a washcloth, so this is a great compromise. Each sponge lasts a month or two and I just can’t say enough about them. Then comes the mask!! Tonight, I used TonyMoly’s I’m Real Avocado Sheet Mask, for nutrition. This is a 20-30 minute commitment so get a glass of wine, close your bedroom door, and just relax.

After removing the mask and patting all of the serum in, I spritz my face with Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox Balancing Essence Water Mist. This stuff is AWESOME, but a lot comes out when you spray, so be prepared haha I wasn’t. I’ll let you picture the hilarity of that for yourselves hehe After that dries, I use a little bit of e.l.f. Hydrating Water Essence on a cotton pad and wipe my face. I let that dry, and then I go in with L’Oreal Paris RevitaLift Anti Wrinkle + Firming Eye Cream. This can even safely go on the eyelids! Finally, I finish up with Garneir SkinActive Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream, 1.7 0z. (The product name is spelled incorrectly in this link. Sorry Garnier!) It looks like the packaging has changed since I bought mine, but this stuff is delightful! It kinda smells like vanilla cupcakes to me. I might be crazy haha, but I think it smells wonderful. I put this all over my face, and down my neck.

So that’s it! Written out, it sounds like a lot, but it really isn’t. Without the mask, it might take five minutes to do my nighttime routine. What’s your nighttime routine? What skin care products can you not live without?
