Happy Wednesday, y’all! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Mine has been … meh lol I’ve had a doctor appointment, which I never like, and today, my sister drove us to pick up my daughter from her college campus for a few days. I had to get some followup X-rays and my daughter is home for a small break after a short study abroad session in Europe. She was there for two weeks and spent time in France, Belgium and England. She had an incredible time! Then, on Friday, I have a waxing appointment. That’s three trips away from my farm, and y’all know I’m not a fan of that hahahaha
After all that time in the car, I felt like I needed some time with a sheet mask today. My daughter’s campus is nearly three hours away. Riding in the car that long, while still recovering, was not awesome. Looking through my extensive sheet mask collection, I felt a rejuvenating formula would be right up my alley.
This mask is LOADED with serum! As I was pulling it out of the package, it was dripping everywhere, which I am not mad about. There have been masks that I’ve tried that have been a bit more on the dry side. After ten minutes, those types of masks are nearly dry. Once they dry out, they can actually start to wick moisture away from your skin, which defeats the purpose of using a mask, if you ask me. So, this one is LOADED and I am happy about it! The mask also fit my face pretty well. Some of these masks are either wayyy too big or wayyy too small, but these are a great size! No folds in the mask trying to get it to fit!
There is a scent, but it didn’t seem all that strong to me. Leave on time was 10-20 minutes, and I always try to shoot for the longer of the times given. It stayed on my face pretty well. Even being super saturated with serum, the mask didn’t want to slide around. Score two points for Purlisse!
At the twenty-minute mark, I peeled it off and started patting the serum in, as the directions said to do. It seemed a tad sticky, but that’s not too unusual, immediately upon removing a sheet mask. Thirty minutes later, my face was still pretty sticky. An hour later, my face was still pretty sticky. Can you sense a pattern? My face didn’t look or feel particularly rejuvenated. It’s hard to say if it feels moisturized. It’s still kinda sticky … several hours later.
Overall, I’m a little bummed out about this particular formula. My previous experience with this brand was nothing like this. I tried their coconut and rice sheet mask a few weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend that formula! This one is kind of underwhelming, and with my face still being sticky several hours later, there isn’t much in the way of positives to share. Except to say, the coconut and rice mask is amazing if you have dry skin. I wish I could be more positive about the green tea and ginger. Both of those ingredients contain great compounds for our bodies! If my skin somehow looks drop dead gorgeous in the morning, or something happens to radically change my perspective, I will definitely update the blog. As of now, I would pass on the green tea and ginger formula.
Alright, y’all, those are my thoughts! Have any of you tried this brand before? How about this particular formula? What were your results? Lemme know! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
