Well hey ya’ll!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! I apologize for being MIA for the last several weeks. I wish I was that woman who had her life together and totally organized, but I’m just not. With the holidays, I feel like I woke everyday with my head on backwards, if that even makes any sense. Too much to do and not near enough hours in the day to do any of it. Couple that with my physical challenges and the last few weeks have bordered on insane. BUT those days are behind me now, and I can actually focus long enough to write more than a few sentences, and man … do I have some awesome things in mind!
We’ll get to those in later posts. I wanted to get back to doing what I love doing … reviewing products! I am forever on the hunt for a GOOD makeup remover. I adore Lancome’s Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover, but I am always looking for a remover that works just as well (or better) that doesn’t have such a high price tag. If you’d like, you can read my thoughts on that makeup remover here. I have dry, sensitive skin and the constant rubbing required to remove mascara really irritates the tops of my cheeks. I have been looking for something that works without all that rubbing. On top of irritating my cheektops, it’s just not healthy for the delicate skin around the eyes.
When Sephora suggested their Rose micellar cleansing milk, I thought I’d give it a shot. It was on sale for $4 (and still is), so there really wasn’t anything to lose.
According to the bottle, this product offers intense moisturization and an instant radiance boost. It also says it’s never greasy or sticky and there is no need to rinse the product off. There is a very pronounced rose scent, so if you are sensitive, this may not be the product for you. I used this over my entire face and didn’t notice that the scent lingered at all. It took four cotton rounds to clean my entire face. I wasn’t wearing foundation yesterday, just powder that had long since faded away. I used one over my entire face, one for each eye, and another to make sure I got everything. Not bad, but if you are wearing anything heavier than hours old powder, it’ll likely take many more to fully get the job done.
It removed everything quite well, even my mascara. I wasn’t wearing a waterproof formula, as I can’t seem to find it haha but I don’t see where this would have any problems cutting through that. My face felt very moisturized. However, my face was quite tacky and remained so for a few hours. It was driving me crazy not to rinse it off haha but I held strong! Once I got through the “never sticky” stickiness, my face felt pretty good, for a little while. The “never greasy” formula was VERY greasy in my normally dry t-zone. My face honestly felt like I was suddenly 14 again … ugghhhh nooooo! I really think it was because I didn’t rinse it off.
Is this micellar milk worth it? I think it is. It works really well at removing eye makeup. And, it’s currently $4. It smells really nice, I think, and it does hydrate. All that being said, I would highly recommend rinsing the product off. At the very least, run a dampened wash cloth over your face. I think that’s a pretty small compromise, considering the pros.
So what are your thoughts? Have any of y’all tried this remover? Lemme know what you think!
