It’s Friday Eve y’all and another day closer to the best day ever … my birthday! Oh, also Thanksgiving, which just so happens to be my favorite holiday … aside from my birthday haha My birthday is pretty much a week-long holiday in my house. I’m working toward making it a month, but that might be pushing it. Gonna have to take that slow hahaha
You may or may not know, but Target offers a monthly beauty box. It’s not a subscription, so you have to go to the website and order every month. They usually become available a few days before the beginning of the month. If you are looking to order the November box, let’s say, the boxes usually become available the last day or so in October, and are available until they sell out. As of this writing, there are still November boxes available, and at around $7, I think they are a great deal, even better if you use your RED card and get 5% off!
This month looks to be pretty good, except for one product, which I will talk about in a bit. Please excuse the terrible lighting. It’s very overcast and rainy here, and even indoor lighting seems to be trash today.
There are 5-6 (usually 6) products every month, and this month’s offering looks pretty cool! (Can you spot the not-so-great product yet?) I am super excited to try out most of these products.
First up is a hydro-gel sheet mask from the company MISSHA. I’ve never used any of their products, nor have I used any facial products with snail excretions, but I hear they are excellent for your skin. This also contains baobab tree extract, which appears to have powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. I might have to try this one out tonight!
Next, we have a facial cleanser from the Toleriane line from La Roche-Posay . The company touts a few key ingredients on the website: Prebiotic Thermal Water, Ceramide-3, Niacinamide, and Glycerin. I had to Google a few of these haha It seems that prebiotic thermal water is used in place of the traditional deionized water. This water helps to feed the good bacteria that everyone has living on their skin, which, according to the site PR Newswire, is important for maintaining the overall health of our skin. Ceramide-3 is key in “reinforcing the natural water retention barrier in dry skin by promoting moisturization”. Niacinimide is a form a vitamin B3 that has soothing properties, and glycerin, which is found in many moisturizers, has the ability to attract water (moisture) to the skin. Well! This sounds like an all around fantastic skin cleanser! I am very much looking forward to trying this one out, since I have dry skin. With it being winter, and the season of super dry air, this might well be a miracle!
Next, we have a dandruff shampoo from Dove. I’m not really thrilled about this product for myself. I have colored hair and these types of shampoos will pull my color out in a second haha Besides, I don’t have dandruff. My hubby will get good use out of this, though. He doesn’t have dandruff, but he really couldn’t care less about shampoo haha
The next product from the box is a hand cream from the company Skinfix. I am always looking for a good hand cream, especially with winter looming. My hands get very dry and have been known to crack and bleed. This cream is chock full of fantastic, soothing ingredients and even won awards from People and Redbook magazines. Okay … I see you Skinfix! (Also, foiled packaging is the bane of my camera taking abilities. If anyone has any tips, please feel free to share!)
Another cool skin product that I am looking forward to trying out is this tiny bar of soap from Tom’s of Maine. I really like products from this company. I like that they are natural, whatever that means anymore haha I’m also a coconut lover, so this is pretty cool. I’m not a huge fan of bar soaps, even just for hand washing. They tend to be a little messy, but this is a small bar. I think I can manage for a little while.
And finally, the product I could really have done without … sigh … I’m not a mascara elitist by any means. My go-to mascara is a drug store brand, in fact. But this was just a disappointment for me. I think I’ll just leave it at that …
Okay, y’all! This was my run-down of this month’s Target Beauty Box. Overall, I’m pretty darn excited about it! Rarely has Target disappointed me, though. The products are great, and the value is outstanding. Oh! I almost forgot that there is a $3 off coupon included every month for your next beauty purchase of $15 or more. It does expire at the end of the month that you got the box though. It is available to use in store, or online, which is nice. The closest Target store to me is a 25 minute drive on the highway. Not exactly convenient.
What do y’all think? Do any of you get the Target Beauty Box? What did you think of this month’s products? Lemme know!
Carrie♥
